Scott Greene

Scott Greene

It was Scott Greene’s longtime interest in and background scouting, buying and selling homes that initially guided him into a career in real estate. Over the past two decades, he has bought, renovated and sold some 10 houses – two in Rome – including the original residence of the Battle family for whom TTW’s Battle Farm development was named. He is especially drawn to older homes, their history, architecture and historic preservation. Among the highlights of his favorite projects was a circa 1799 home in New England with beautiful wide-plank floors and a picturesque old red barn.

Now in the new chapter of his second career, Scott is excited to take his love of real estate and turn one of his favorite hobbies into a full-time vocation.

Before joining Toles, Temple & Wright as a REALTOR in 2022, Scott Greene worked for more than 35 years at independent schools in five different states. Prior to his retirement, the third-generation educator served as the director of the Teaching & Learning Center at Darlington School. Under his leadership, the Teaching & Learning Center vastly grew its programming and students served, and launched the Accelerated Learning Program for Dyslexia. Scott’s wife, Tonya, continues to work at Darlington, where she serves as coordinator for the same program they worked together to establish. Before relocating to Rome to work at Darlington in 2017, Scott served as the academic dean at the Rectory School in Connecticut.

Scott originally hails from the Asheville, N.C. area, where his family has maintained roots for many generations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of North Carolina – Asheville, and a master’s degree in special education from Western Carolina University.

Scott and Tonya are the parents of Alexander, an adopted son from Russia who is a student at the University of Georgia; and one daughter, Addie, a student at Darlington. Also part of the Greene family is Mac – a lovable Newfoundland dog that they rescued when he was 12 months old. In his spare time, Scott enjoys everything from following historic preservation initiatives to competitive power lifting, and spending time with his family supporting the athletic and academic pursuits of his children. The Greene family resides in Rome.
