C. Max Toles, Cofounder
February 17, 1933 – November 16, 1997
After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, Charles Max Toles held several sales positions in the Rome, GA business community. In 1966, Max joined Adrian Howell & Covington as the firm’s sales manager. In the late 1960s, the company became Covington & Toles upon Jim Covington’s sale of his share of the company.
In 1972, Max joined Brooke Temple in recruiting Sara Wright to become the associate broker of Toles, Temple & Wright. Following years of different successful developments and business ventures, Max relocated to Boca Raton, Fla., in 1980, to semi-retire. There he continued to play an active role in the local real estate market. Max and his wife, Joan, had two children: Lisa and Charles, Jr.
Max Toles passed away in Boca Raton in 1997 at the age of 64.
