Nestled off Chulio Road in Rome, Woodfin Estates (phase I) was initially developed by Billy Calloway in the early 1970s. Around 1974, Toles, Temple & Wright took over the development and marketing of the newer community, with Brooke Temple and Wayne Robinson leading phases II, III and IV. TTW’s Joan Johnstone served as the subdivision’s exclusive listing agent in its earliest days.
The style of the homes in Woodfin Estates ranges from traditional to contemporary, ranch and beyond.
“Its design and environment is to be one of classic elegance and formality.”
Woodfin Estates is a subdivision with cherished traditions, including the “Lighting of Woodfin,” which has taken place every December since it was first developed. Beginning the first Friday, residents celebrate the Christmas season by placing a single clear electric candle light in each window of their home. A decorated and personalized stocking is spotlighted and placed on each front lawn. Additionally, neighbors work together to ensure the American flag is always flown at the Woodfin Estates entrance on all major holidays.
