Mimi Richards

“Quality matters in today’s world and that is what we, as locals, have strived to accomplish over the past five decades. When you visit, you will see for yourself and ask…‘where do I sign up?’”

Being a native of Rome and having watched the many positive changes the community has experienced, Mimi knows without a doubt that Rome-Floyd County remains a “best-kept secret.”

She and her husband, Hal, first opened a small retail store in the historic downtown area in 1973. Together they owned and operated H Richards Clothing Co. through evolving trends in fashion and design, as well as several renovations, until 2005. Mimi joined Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc. as a real estate agent in 1992 when she decided to branch out from retail and expand on her work in the community.

Having had the opportunity to travel extensively as part of the clothing business, Mimi has seen her share of different thriving communities, big and small, where opportunities certainly abound. According to the REALTOR, however, she will always choose Rome as home, and for good reason: it is the best place to live!

Hal’s latest retail incarnation is The Lodge Menswear, located in the historic Rome Manufacturing Co. building on East 2nd Avenue in Downtown Rome. When Mimi is not with clients, you may still find her working the cash wrap from time to time.

Outside of selling her hometown’s quality of life and getting customers excited about being in Rome-Floyd County, Mimi enjoys trying her hand at new things. She is both a past participant of the Skip Barber Racing School and a graduate of the Ritz-Carlton Culinary Institute. In her spare time, Mimi loves baking and entertaining for friends and family.

Mimi and Hal reside in Downtown Rome’s Between the Rivers Historic District in a circa 1871 home they have lovingly renovated over the past 30+ years.
