After more than 40 years as a registered pharmacist, Billy Cooper retired from his beloved profession but knew for a fact that he did not want to sit still. The Rome native decided he would start a new adventure in real estate, and upon completing his coursework and licensing, began his second career as a REALTOR at Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc. in May 2019.
Billy is a graduate of Pepperell High School and attended the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, where he graduated cum laude. Prior to retiring and entering real estate, he served as the director of pharmacy services at Redmond Regional Medical Center and Cartersville Medical Center for 22 years.
His interest in real estate began after college once he learned how to buy a house, improve it, sell it – and repeat. He has followed residential construction closely over the years, paying attention to how it has evolved and continues to change. Although a newer real estate agent, he cut his teeth on a shovel, saw and hammer, and brings his own unique value and wisdom gained from personal experiences remodeling older homes and building new ones. In fact, there are very few components of the residential construction process that he has not touched.
Billy’s long run in healthcare allowed him to refine his skillsets in a fast-paced world where attention to detail is essential. Much of his day-to-day activity was underscored by the ability to effectively problem-solve for a variety of ever-changing scenarios. Additionally, as a pharmacist, how he carried himself was always marked by a commitment to the highest ethical behavior.
Billy is married to the former Kathy Cook. Their immediate family includes his two adult children and Kathy’s three. In his free time, Billy’s hobbies and interests involve home improvement projects, physical fitness, and amateur landscape design.
