Trisha Johnson

Trisha Johnson

For Trisha Johnson, it doesn’t matter if she is in the classroom or out showing properties – she loves being able to take unfamiliar concepts and processes and break them down so that whoever is receiving the information feels comfortable and set up for success. Whether it is how to solve for “x” or how to buy a home, Trisha thrives on that “lightbulb moment” when everything makes sense for her high school students and real estate clients. Equally important to both sides of her professional life is her innate ability to connect and find something in common with those she is engaging with through simple conversation.

While she has called Floyd County her home for a few decades now, Trisha has actually lived all over the country. As the daughter of a retired marine, she was born in San Diego. Her family originally hails from Illinois, where she also resided briefly as a youth. Upon moving to Georgia during her middle school years, Trisha grew up in Powder Springs and later graduated from McEachern High School.

It was her interest in and love of animals that led her to enroll in the University of Georgia. While pursuing her degree in animal and dairy science at UGA, she was a member of the Block and Bridle agricultural club. During her summers as an undergrad, Trisha worked on a dude ranch in Cody, Wyo. She considers her time at Castle Rock Ranch as one of the best experiences of her life, guiding guests on horse rides, rock climbing and whitewater rafting. After college graduation, she worked in sales for Buckhead Beef.

Trisha later relocated to Floyd County when the opportunity arose to purchase a horse farm in Silver Creek. For 12 years she owned Twin Byrd Farm, boarding horses and providing mounted patrol at different special events across the Southeast. She even worked the very first Bonnaroo and was able to watch the popular music festival quickly transform during its first decade of existence.

After considering a career move that would allow her the flexibility to spend more time with her family and reinvigorate her professional life with something new and exciting, she decided to go into education. She attended and graduated from Kennesaw State University with her bachelor of science degree in secondary math education. In 2006, Trisha joined the faculty at Pepperell Middle School as a math teacher, later transferring to Pepperell High School. There she helped start the soccer program and served as girls coach for more than 10 years. Today, she continues to teach 10th grade geometry.

Trisha had her own lightbulb moment when the idea to enter real estate first came into focus. Having taken part on various construction projects over the years, she became a licensed REALTOR in 2022 to utilize her expertise and understanding of the homebuilding and renovation process – while also combining it with her love for teaching.

Trisha lives in Floyd County and has three daughters: Madelyn and Lindsey, twins, and Jenna. She also has three dogs: Neo (a Siberian husky), Koda (a miniature Australian shepherd), and Milo (a loveable mutt). Whenever she is off the clock, Trisha enjoys hiking and spending time on the water, including kayaking the Etowah River and hanging out with family at Lake Allatoona.
